Elections

The Scott County Auditor’s Office is looking for interested individuals to work at polling places on Election Day! Are you friendly, dependable, civic-minded, and detail-oriented? Apply to be a poll worker, also known as a precinct election official! No experience is necessary and training is provided.

What Do Poll Workers Do?

Voting hours for elections are typically 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with poll workers generally expected to arrive an hour earlier and stay an hour later. The work is rewarding, time spent standing is minimal, and workers must remain at the polls all day. Precinct election officials are currently paid $12.50 per hour.

Requirements of a Poll Worker

You may not be called for every election due to precincts having to be party-balanced in certain elections and worker rotation.
